Luigi Belli a une pratique artistique très solitaire. 

Son rayonnement est celui d’un artisan qui fait revivre une technique tombée en désuétude mais très appréciée dans les années 1950 en Italie grâce à l’implication de Paolo de Poli qui pratique l’émaillage sur cuivre pour réaliser des formes d’une grande qualité et représentatives du style contemporain.

Paolo de Poli a aussi été celui qui a développé, avec Gio Ponti, une collection d’objets de décoration au design très ludique et léger en métal simplement plié représentant des têtes de chat, cocottes et autres éléments d’un bestiaire stylisé et joyeux grâce aux coloris et à la surface chatoyante des émaux renforcé par le fond rougeâtre de cuivre.

Luigi Belli réalise des mains dont les coloris n’ont rien à envier à ceux de Poli et la justesse de la forme permet de les poser partout aussi bien à plat qu’en applique. Il apporte un soutien technique en tant que céramiste à Il Giardino dei Tarocchi de Niki de Saint Phalle (Capalbio, Italie).

His influence is that of a craftsman who revived a technique that had fallen into disuse but was very popular in the 1950s in Italy, thanks to the involvement of Paolo de Poli, who practiced enameling on copper to create shapes of great quality and representative of the contemporary style.

Paolo de Poli was also the one who developed, with Gio Ponti, a collection of decorative objects with a very playful and light design in simply folded metal representing cat heads, casseroles and other elements of a stylized and joyful bestiary thanks to the colors and the shimmering surface of the enamels reinforced by the reddish background of copper.

Luigi Belli realizes hands whose colors have nothing to envy to those of Poli and the accuracy of the form allows to put them everywhere as well as flat as applied. He provides technical support as a ceramist to Niki de Saint Phalle's Il Giardino dei Tarocchi (Capalbio, Italy).
